Introduction of Compliance, Reliability and Dispute Resolution Programme
 


Businesses and organisations that subscribe to the full service will be bound by a code of conduct that will be enforced by Onlineombud.com and be entitled to display the Tanzanite Seal (named after Africa’s unique gemstone) to assure customers of their (the service providers’) commitment to integrity and fairness in all their business dealings and their adherence to the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act.

The Tanzanite seal assures consumers that they will receive a fair deal from the subscribing member or have access to impartial redress.

The cost of subscribing is:
Once off joining fee: R450
1-20 employees: R150 per month
21-50 employees: R400 per month

Over 50 employees R500 per month

EXTRACT FROM THE SEAL AGREEMENT THAT BINDS LICENSEES OF THE SEAL.

2.1. Onlineombud’s Tanzanite Seal indicates to consumers that the licensee displaying it has agreed to:
2.1.1. Fully implement the Consumer protection Act;
2.1.2. be bound in all its commercial dealings by the Onlineombud’s Code of Online Conduct; 
2.1.3. submit unresolved customer complaints against it to Onlineombud to resolve; and 
2.1.4. to be bound by the recommendations of Onlineombud (optional). 
2.2. The licensee may not sublicense or assign the seal or its use except to a third party site host.
2.3. The seal must be displayed by the licensee in the manner stipulated from time to time by Onlineombud and may not be modified in any way.
2.4. Onlineombud will remain the sole and exclusive owner of the seal at all times.

LICENCE CONDITIONS
3.1. The licensee warrants that it complies with and will continue for the duration of this agreement to comply with the requirements in terms of 2.1. of the Addendum.
3.2. The licensee undertakes to submit itself and any document or record to the scrutiny of Onlineombud to enable the latter to satisfy itself that the licensee of the seal is complying with the conditions of the license.

TERMINATION OF LICENCE 
5.1 Onlineombud will be entitled to revoke the license to use the seal should the licensee fail to comply with any condition to the granting of the licence set out in this agreement, after following the process set out in 10. in the main agreement.
5.2 Upon being informed that the licence has been revoked, the licensee shall forthwith cease using it and remove it from any online or other of its documents, advertising material or WebPages.
5.3 The Licensee consents to Onlineombud publishing the fact that the license has been terminated and the reasons thereof.
